Penang, here we go! |
1. Roti Canai Transfer Road
Location: Jalan Transfer, Georgetown
![]() |
Just see how big the chicken is haha |
We start our morning by taking our breakfast at this stall by the road. at the time we arrived, the stall was already packed with people. Make sure you came early to avoid waiting for the available table. We ordered their famous roti canai. At first, I thought it was the regular roti canai which you can have at any mamak stall. Surprising, their roti canai is actually roti telur (they have egg in the roti canai) served with chicken and kuah banjir (lot of curries). Now that is my definition of 'Eat breakfast like a king'. I also tried the roti bakar (toasted bread) with their half-cooked egg. Typical Kopitiam breakfast menu! The roti canai cost us RM7~8 (don't remember) and RM2 for the bread.
2. Penang Hill
Location: Bukit Bendera, Penang

We tried the binocular. meh, not bad for RM1 haha. |

Locked your love here :) |
If you love enjoying the scenery and breathtaking place, Penang Hill is one of the place. You can watch the whole island view from the top. Actually, there are also other attractive places you can go on the hill but we just decided to take our time and enjoy the view (also taking a lot of photos). Click here to know more about the place.

We are going up! |
There is a train provided there so we take the train to take us to the hill. The fee is RM12 per person. Tried to take the front cabin so you can see clearly the view at the railway.
3. Kek Lok Si Temple
Location: Ayer Itam, Pulau Pinang
While we are on Penang Hill, we saw a big statue on the island. Can you imagine how big the thing since we can see it from the top? I feel so eager about the place so I managed to convince my friends to go there while waiting for the Zohor prayer. The place is quite near the Penang Hill Railway station.
When we arrived, we were all bit confused about how to enter the place. The temple is so big! You have to climb up if you want to enter the place. As we were already halfway, we realized that there is another entrance for you to park your car. I feel cheated by the guard (haha). At least we still can have some photoshoot there. It a nice place. But, some of the places there are in the renovation process, so yeah.
No fee is needed here, except if you want to ride the mini cable car (i guess) you need to pay RM16 per person (if im not mistaken sorry).
4. Masjid Negeri Pulau Pinang
Location: Ayer Itam, Pulau Pinang
We choose to do Jamak Zohor and Asar prayer at the Penang State Mosque. You can here the kids mengaji as there is a fardhu Ain class I presume. We take a break and energized ourself before the next stop.
5. Nasi Kandar Deens Maju
Location: Jalan Jelutong, Georgetown, Penang

Lunchtime! We went at Nasi Kandar Deens Maju to try their signature, of course, nasi kandar. One of the famous food in Penang. (Disclaimer: Honestly, I did know how to order or proper way to eat nasi kandar. Haha but I do know they served the rice with mix curry and you can choose any dishes you want to add like chicken, fish or squid. I just copying how my friend order, haha) We need to queue to order. For me, I choose ayam goreng (fried chicken) and sotong goreng (fried squid) and mix curry for the gravy. It cost me RM11. My first nasi kandar! haha.
Location: Lebuh Melayu, Georgetown, Penang
The wait is over! The place on my wishlist. This ghost museum provided the history and the replica of the famous ghost from Malay, Chinese, Egypt, and Japan. They also have zombie, vampire, pirate and Halloween. The museum is basically a shop building. They have 3 levels. The museum is like a maze and you have to follow until you found the exit. The place is dark and creepy since they added the sound effect as well. It was so much fun to see others face at this moment. Everyone was so scared even it just a museum haha (of course included me).
In my opinion, the Malay ghost was the scariest. They have the kampung replica with kampung ghost such as langsuir, pontianak, pocong and more. We didn't manage to get the photo as we were all scared haha. If you love to know about the history of a ghost, do come here. The fee is only RM10 per person.
7. Street Art
Location: Georgetown, Penang
One of the well-known attraction of Pulau Pinang. There is a lot of old shops that sell souvenir and handcraft. Also food stalls. At first, we decided to try the famous cendol in the area.
Unfortunately, all the shops and stall were closed by 6pm. But, we have the luck to get a taste of homemade ice cream at Fruitmade. The dragon fruit and lemon flavor was their signature dish. Sorry but I totally forgot about the price, however, you can check about them on Fruitmade Instagram for other stuff.

If you like some vintage things, there is a lot of choices here. And the perfect spot for the gram too.
8. Padang Kota Lama
Location: Georgetown, Penang
Other than nasi kandar, when people come to Penang, they should try their pasembur. It's kind of regular rojak but with the particular sauce. We kind to get a leasure time there seeing the sunset. The place is near the sea. We can also see the land side Penang from there. Also the cruise. Everyone trying to have their best time even though we were already exhausted. Still got few hours till midnight. For the pasembur, we just take one big plate and shared among us.
Our pasembur cost us RM25 per plate. It depends on what you take for your pasembur.
9. Avatar Secret Garden
Location: Tanjung Bungah, Pulau Pinang
We ended our night with a beautiful view of the Avatar Secret Garden. It's a garden but with full of colorful light. They also got flowers lamp. Similar to the lamp festival. I just tried to enjoy the last place without taking many photos because I just too exhausted at that time haha. There is no fee entrance but we still need to pay for the parking ticket which cost RM2.
So, I think that is for our 1 day trip to Pulau Pinang. After spending time at Avatar Secret Garden, we headed to Penang International Airport for our flight to KLIA2. Of course, we didn't get to explore the whole island but it is worth every second (and money) we spend there.
Actually, we arrive 1 day earlier at 10pm on Penang International Airport, depart from KLIA2. And we did book an apartment for us to stay for 1 night in Ar-Raudhah Apartment Services. The price for an apartment with 5 pax cost RM105~ for 1 night. It is recommended for the nice apartment, convenient as it is located on Georgetown and also the place itself have their spot for a photoshoot!
I suggest you guys book it online via any booking apps to get their affordable price. Mine was booked through Agoda apps. After you have pay, they will give you the confirmation booking through your email.
For transportation, we rent a car for a day and just drive for ourself. But, you can also get a Grab or use public transport such as Penang Rapid to take you to your destination. If you choose to rent a car, don't forget to get the parking ticket which is always available in 7eleven or selected store.
So, here is a video made by my friend, Syud, about our trip on Penang that day. Enjoy! (Do like and subscribe her channel. Show some love <3)
Thank you for your time reading my post. I'd love to share more with you guys! Don't forget to make research and plan your trip very well. See you very soon!
